Thyme Essential Oil ct. geraniol France (Thymus vulgaris), this variety of Thyme oil has a high geraniol content.  Because of this, this variety of Thyme oil has more of a floral aroma.  Overall, it has a spicy, floral, slightly sweet aroma.  Many of our aromatherapist say this Thyme oil is very relaxing and calming.

Action and Traditional Uses for Thyme Essential Oil:

Action:  Thyme is highly antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, a uterine tonic, and cardiotonic.  Traditional Uses:  Thyme has been used for respiratory problems, digestive complaints. the prevention and treatment of infection, gastritis, bronchitis, pertussis, asthma, laryngitis, and tonsilitis.  The Egyptians used Thyme for embalming.

Other Uses and Indications for Thyme Essential Oil:

Other Uses:  Thyme oil is a general tonic for the nerves and stomach.  It may also help with bacterial infections, respiratory infections, circulation, depression, digestion, headaches, insomnia, rheumatism, urinary infections, and viruses along the spine.  Indications:  Asthma, bronchitis, colitis, cystitis, dermatitis, anthrax, fatigue (general), pleurisy, psoriasis, sciatica, tuberculosis, vaginal candida.

Application:  Apply topically, diluted with a vegetable or massage oil.  Add to food or rice milk as a dietary supplement or flavoring.

Fragrant Influence:  Thyme may be beneficial in helping to overcome fatigue and exhaustion after illness.

Companion Oils:  Bergamot, Citrus oil, Cedarwood, Juniper, Melaleuca alternifolia, Oregano, and Rosemary CT cineol.
