About Cistus Essential Oil:
Cistus Essential Oil Spain (Cistus ladaniferus), is steam distilled from the flowers, leaves, and sometimes branches of Cistus ladanifer where as Labdanum Absolute originates from the resin. Cistus oil has a strong, long lasting, warm, sweet aroma that is great for perfume blends. Cistus essential oil is believed to be the biblical Rose of Sharon. Considered a spiritual oil, it can be used to support self-awareness and reflection while meditating.
Action and Traditional Uses for Cistus Essential Oil:
Cistus is also known as “rock rose” and has been studied for its effects on cell regeneration. Cistus is anti-infectious, antiviral, antibacterial, a powerful antihemorrhaging agent, helps reduce inflammation, and is a neurotonic for the sympathetic nervous system. Companion Oils: Bergamot, Clary Sage, Cypress, Juniper, Lavender, Lavandin, Patchouli, Pine, Sandalwood, and Vetiver.
Indications and Other Uses for Cistus Essential Oil:
Bronchitis, respiratory infections, coughs, rhinitis, urinary infections, wounds, and wrinkles. Cistus may strengthen and support the immune system (due to phenol action). Application: Diffuse or apply topically mixed with a massage oil. Fragrant Influence: Calming to the nerves, elevates the emotions. HOW TO USE:
Topical: Apply 2-4 drops directly to desired area. Dilution not required, except for the most sensitive skin. Use as needed. Aromatic: Diffuse up to 1 hour 3 times daily.
