Cardamom Essential Oil Hydrodiffused Guatemala (Elettatia cardamomum), has a sweet, spicy, warm aroma with balsamic, woody, slightly sweet, floral like middle notes. The main components of Cardamom are cineole, terpinylacetate, terpineol, borneol, and terpenes. In perfumes, the oil is coveted for its spiciness, warmth, and sweetness. Cardamom oil blends well with Bergamot, Ylang Ylang, Labdanum, Cilantro, and woody oils.
Action Traditional Uses and Indications for Cardamom Essential Oil:
Action: Cardamom is antispasmodic (neuro-muscular), antibacterial, an expectorant, and anti-infectious. Traditional Uses: Cardamom has been used for paralysis, rheumatism, intestinal, and urinary complaints. Indications: Indigestion, loss of appetite, coughs, debility, halitosis, mental fatigue, headaches, heartburn, nausea, and sciatica. Cardamom may also alleviate menstrual problems and irregularities.
Application: Diffuse, rub on the bottom of the feet, the stomach, the solar plexus, and the thighs.
Fragrant Influence: Cardamom is uplifting, refreshing, and invigorating.
Companion Oils: Bergamot, Cedarwood, Cinnamon, Cistus, Clove, Neroli, Orange, Rose, and Ylang Ylang.
