About Laurel Leaf Essential Oil Bay Laurel:

Laurel Leaf Essential Oil Crete (Laurus nobilis), also know as Bay Laurel, has a sweet, pleasant, spicy, somewhat medicinal aroma.  The dry out notes are much finer than Eucalyptus or Cajupet.  The aroma is clean and has a faint fruitness.  Ancient Greeks and Romans used Laurel leaves to signify glory, even victorious generals were crowned with Laurel leaves.

Action and Traditional Uses for Laurel Leaf Essential Oil Bay Laurel:

Laurel Leaf Laurus nobilis is antiseptic, antimicrobial, an expectorant, mucolytic, anti-infectious, antibacterial (staph, strep, E. coli), and an anticoagulant.  Both the leaves and the black berries were also used to alleviate indigestion, and loss of appetite.  During the Middle Ages, it was used for angina pectoris, asthma, gout, migraine, palpitations, and liver and spleen complaints.

Indications and Other Uses for Laurel Leaf Essential Oil:

Nerve damage, arthritis (rheumatoid), and oral infections.  Bay laurel may help with loss of appetite, asthmatic conditions, chronic bronchitis, hair loss (after and infection), lice, scabies, and viral infections.

Application:  Diffuse or apply topically on the abdomen or on location.

Fragrant Influence:  Bay laurel has been used as a fragrance component in cosmetics and perfumes.
