About Bergamot Essential Oil Ivory Coast:

Bergamot Essential Oil Ivory Coast (Citrus bergamia), the scent is sweet and characteristically citrus but warm and with uniquely floral nuances. It is even compared to neroli by Aromatherapist and Author Robert Tisserand.

Key Constituents:

Limonene [30-45%]

Linalyl Acetate [22-36%]

Linalol [3-15%]

Gamma-Terpene [6-10%]

Beta-Pinene [5.5-9.5%]

Action:  Bergamot is calming, antiseptic, anti-infectious, anti0inflammatory, antibacterial, and it provides hormonal support.

Traditional Uses:  It is believed that Christopher Columbus brought bergamot oil to Bergamo in Northern Italy from the Canary Islands.  A mainstay in traditional Italian medicine, bergamot has been used in the Middle East for hundreds of years for skin conditions associated with an oily complexion.  Bergamot is responsible for the distinctive flavor of the renowned Earl Grey Tea, and was used in the first genuine eau de cologne.

Indications: Stress, loss of appetite, indigestion, agitation, depression, infection, inflammation, intestinal parasites, rheumatism, insomnia, vaginal candida, and it also is an insect repellent.

Other Uses:  Bergamot essential oil may help bronchitis, cold sores, oily complexion, anxiety, nervous tension, coughs, urinary tract infections, respiratory infection, sore throat, thrush, and tonsilitis, Jean Valnet, MD, recommends it as an antidepressant and to regulate appetite.

Application:  Diffuse, apply to the forehead, on the temples, and on the location of stings and bites.  Apply where you would a deodorant.  Bergamot oil may be added to food or water as a dietary supplement.

Fragrant Influence:  Bergamot oil may help to relieve anxiety, stress, and tension, and has many constituents contributing refreshing, mood-lifting qualities.
