Gout Blend Essential Oil
Gout is a disease marked by abrupt, temporary bouts of joint pain and swelling that are most evident in the joint of the big toe. It can also affect the wrist, elbow, knee, ankle, hand, and foot. As the disease progresses, pain and swelling in the joints become more frequent and chronic, with deposits called “tophi” appearing over many joints, including the elbows and on ears.
Gout is characterized by accumulation of uric acid crystals in the joints caused by excess uric acid in the blood. Uric acid is a by product of the breakdown of protein that is normally excreted by the kidneys into the urine. To reduce uric acid concentrations, it is necessary to support the kidneys,
adrenal, and immune functions. It is also necessary to detoxify by cleansing and drinking plenty of fluids.
Excess alcohol, allergy-producing foods, or strict diets can cause outbreaks of gout. Food rich in purines, such as wine, anchovies, and animal liver, can also cause gout.
Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) – assists in balancing hormones. It is antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anti-infectious, antibacterial, antifungal, and stimulates the liver and pancreas. This oil is uplifting and has been used to treat anxiety.
Juniper (Juniperus communis) – may work as a detoxifier and cleanser, and promotes improved nerve and kidney function. It is also beneficial for the skin, reducing dermatitis, eczema, and acne. It elevates spiritual awareness, creating feelings of love and peace.
Rosemary cineol (Rosmarinus officinalis CT 1,8 cineol) – is antiseptic, antimicrobial, and may be benefical for skin conditions and dandruff. It may help fight candida and is anti-infectious, antispasmodic, balances the endocrine system, and is an expectorant. It helps overcome mental fatigue, stimulating memory and opening the conscious mind.
Lemon (Citrus limon) – has antiseptic-like properties and contains compounds that have been studied for their effects on immune function.
It increases microcirculation, which may improve vision. It may serve as an insect repellent and may be beneficial for the skin. It has been found to promote leukocyte formation, dissolve cellulite, increase lymphatic function, and promote a sense of well-being. Its fragrance is stimulating and invigorating.
Melaleuca alternifolia – is anti-infectious, antibacterial (large spectrum action of gram positive and gram negative bacteria), antifungal, antiviral, antiparasitic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, an immunostimulant, is cardiotonic, a decongestant of the veins, reduces phlebitis, is neurotonic, analgesic, and protects against radiation.
TOPICAL: NEAT, gently massage 1-3 drops on affected joints 2-3 times daily.
Safety Data: This blend may be irritating to those with sensitive skin. Avoid eye contact. In case of accidental eye contact, put a few drops of any
pure vegetable oil in the eye and call your doctor if necessary. Never use water to dilute or rinse.
